In line with the Cebu International Distance Education College (CIDEC) and Swiss Development Agency for Cooperation (SDC) advocacy for poverty alleviation for a better life, CIDEC-SDC provides educational opportunities through our Scholarship and Student Financial Assistance Program (SSFAP) to poor but deserving students in basic education and in college.
CIDEC-SSFAP is administered by the Scholarship committee, headed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Scholarship Coordinators in basic and tertiary education.
Scholarship Offered
• Academic Scholarship Program (ASP)
Scholarship is given to those who belong to the upper 20% of the graduating class in the elementary and high school to be endorsed by the government and non-government organizations.
• Student Financial Assistance Program (SFAP)
A study grant, which can be availed of by the following students:
1. Students who cannot afford to study due to financial difficulties especially for those from Barangay Lahug, Apas, and nearby barangays;
2. Students found to be undergoing dialysis, under treatment of terminal diseases/sickness like cancer, etc.;
3. Students under the care of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) or orphanage who are victims of sexual abuse, family violence, drug addiction, and other disadvantaged and underprivileged children or youth;
4. Students/ children of poor market vendors who are members of vendors' association or other similar association;
5. Students/ children/ youth as deemed qualified by the scholarship committee and/ or management.
Target Population
1. Children of market vendors who are members of Vendors' Association or similar association
2. Children beneficiaries of non-government/ civic organization
3. Children from orphanage
4. Children with terminal sickness/ diseases
5. Poor but deserving students from Barangays Lahug, Barangay Apas, and other neighboring barangays
Note:
CIDEC is also looking for philanthropic sponsors who could finance prospective scholars who may not be covered by CIDEC-SDC SSFAP. Tuition and other miscellaneous fees in the Basic Education are P40,000.00 per year and P45,000.00 for online students.
